Front Desk Overview

Front Desk covers the daily front-office workflow: room planning, in-house guest management, and checked-out guest history. It is the central hub for check-in, check-out, room moves, and quick folio access.

Typical Daily Workflow

  1. Start the day on Room Plan — review arrivals and room availability.
  2. As guests arrive, check them in from Reservations → Arrivals or directly from the Room Plan.
  3. Manage in-house guests from In-House — room moves, folio access, alerts.
  4. Process departures from In-House or Reservations → Departures — settle folio, check out.
  5. After all activity, run Night Audit to close the business date.

Common FAQs

Why don't I see Room Plan or In-House? Your user may not have front-desk or reservation permission. Ask your administrator to grant access.

What is the difference between In-House and Checked-Out? In-House shows guests currently staying. Checked-Out shows guests who have already departed.

Can I move a guest to a different room while they are in-house? Yes — from the In-House list, use the Room Move action on the reservation row. The destination room must be the same room type.
